A bold statement with flowers on this bright summer tablescape! The softness of the watercolor napkin contrasts with the colorful (and stemless!) blooms carefully strewn down the center of the table.

We’re so excited to finally be able to share our Cocktails and Crushed Velvet Styled Shoot with Willett Photography at The Stave Room at American Spirit Works! We teamed up with some of Atlanta’s best wedding vendors to dress up this newly renovated venue with a design that’s a little bit edgy and a little bit glam!

With the help of stunning draper from Unique Event Elements, we transformed the urban courtyard into a romantic wedding ceremony complete with a whimsical greenery arch from Juli Vaughn Designs welcoming guests into the ceremony space.

Have you ever seen a better dressed couple? The Modern Gent styled our groom in a blue crushed velvet jacket and black pants while the bride wore two Anne Barge gowns that each had that ‘wow’ factor! Not to mention the beautiful hair and makeup from Scoobie West & Co! And that bouquet! Never has protea looked so good!

Hi Note went above and beyond on all the stationery featured in the shoot, especially these laser cut wood invitations with crushed velvet cutouts and copper foil. This was seriously one of the most amazing pieces ever created!

This table. Oh, this table. I want this in my house! This tablescape embodies everything mixed metals should. Starting with the in-house farm table and cross back chairs from The Stave Room, we paired gold starbust chargers from Event Rentals Unlimited with slate Kate Spade plates, copper flatware that was to die for, and rich blue textured glassware! Bre with Juli Vaughn Designs brought it all together with an out-of-this-world arrangement packed with texture and color. Everything was capped off with a flax metallic napkin from Nuage Designs wrapped with a Hi Note menu accented with a pheasant feather.

Drawing inspiration from the oversize chalkboard behind The Stave Room’s built-in bar, For Goodness Cakes created a decadent chalkboard cake featuring metallic copper tiers for added elegance. Let’s not forget the insanely realistic cigar box groom’s cake!

Collection Event Rentals provided gray velvet sofas and a hammered metal and wood coffee table to fit right in with this glam look. It’s easy to make any lounge look complete and welcoming by adding a few accessories you might have at home!

This blush Reem Acra gown is breathtaking! Carrying the lace applique from the bodice down through the wispy skirts moves the eye while the subtle blush tone adds even more softness.

A dreamy place to tie the knot! This circle of planters would look lovely filled with an array of foliage and plants and, just like pictured, surrounded where the aisle meets the altar by soft florals to complete the look!

This one is a must! We may not need it at every wedding (and if we did I’d be seriously questioning clothing quality!) but it’s great to have it there when a wardrobe emergency occurs – and it will happen eventually. If you don’t have a sewing kit in your emergency kit, there’s a problem. Or it’s just been used so much that you’re in need of a new one!

Here’s a little story for you on just why there’s nothing like a sewing kit: At a recent wedding, the girls were putting the finishing touches on their looks and as one bridesmaid went to zip her strapless, floor length gown the zipper came right off the track. Obviously the first course of action was to try and get it back on the track but it became clear that that wasn’t going to happen. That’s right the only thing to hold that dress up was irrevocably broken. Bridesmaid’s worst nightmare. And this was no small zipper, no no, we were looking at almost two feet of fabric, gaping open, trying to break us. It was time to pull out the sewing kit and work a little magic! And magic it was because that dress stayed up without a problem for the entire wedding and reception, including some wild time on the dance floor! For anyone wondering at this point why we didn’t just safety pin it, trust me when I say no amount of safety pins would’ve salvaged this dress and also ensure that poor bridesmaid held her head up high with confidence for the rest of the day and night.

Another lifesaver that day: my assistant. After a quick tutorial, she was able to spend an hour sewing this girl into her dress so I could make sure the rest of the wedding prep was going smoothly. And it actually looked good when she got done – no one would’ve guessed that dress had been a real pain just an hour earlier! Lucky for me she doesn’t come in emergency kits, you’ll have to get your own!

Later that night I had to whip out the sewing kit again when the bride’s bustle broke but thankfully that was just a few quick stitches and it was all fixed! Seriously I don’t know what we would’ve done without a needle and the perfect shade of thread (but really, somehow the thread matched both dresses perfectly!)

Every wedding has its own story and this one relies heavily on a needle and thread but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

The peonies are the stars of the show in this bouquet but that doesn’t mean the supporting blooms don’t shine! With just enough greenery to make the pinks pop, this bouquet can’t be overlooked!

Picking a honeymoon destination can be incredibly challenging – you can literally go anywhere in the world! With the world at our fingertips, we’re highlighting various locales you might want to consider exploring with your new Mr. or Mrs. Or maybe you’ll just make a mental note to add it to your list for a future trip, an anniversary perhaps, either way happy exploring!

Today’s destination is Banff, Alberta, Canada! Just one look at the stunning scenery of this place gives you a million reasons to add it to your bucket list without even knowing what else it has to offer! (Avid fans of The Bachelor, like me, might remember the show took a trip to Banff during Sean Lowe’s season.)

If you love spending time in nature, you’ll find plenty to do in Banff! For a summer trip, you’ll enjoy hiking, canoeing, golf, swimming and more while in the winter, it’s all about the snow and ice! Skiing, skating, sledding and the ever popular curling!

Looking for a place to stay? There’s plenty to choose from but the most famous is arguably the picturesque Fairmont Banff Springs. While this exquisite “castle” might not be in the budget for the whole trip, it’s definitely worth the splurge for a night or two!

Happy 4th of July!

We’re getting ready to celebrate this holiday weekend as only wedding planners know how, with a wedding of course! After all the cake has been eaten and the happy newlyweds have been sent on their way, that’s when it’s time for a little toasting of our own and I can’t think of a more appropriate drink for the day than Jim Beam’s Honey White and Blue!

Try it yourself!

2 parts Jim Beam Honey
1 part Blue Curacao
2 parts White Cranberry Juice
Juice of half a lime

Shake the Jim Beam Honey, cranberry, and lime juice together in a mixer and strain into a chilled glass. Carefully, and slowly, pour the Blue Curacao against the inside of the glass (it will head straight to the bottom this way and create that amazing color-blocking!). Garnish with a festive strawberry slice and enjoy!

Have a great holiday celebrating our great country everyone and remember to be safe!

Last weekend we had the pleasure of helping Brittany and Nick say “I Do” and the day couldn’t have been more special! I’m so thankful I got to meet these families and be a part of their lives for this short period of time. Nothing makes me love my job more than witnessing the love between two people but receiving sweet words from the bride after the wedding like these is pretty great too!

“I cannot thank you enough for everything! You were the backbone to this wedding and it means the world to us!”

This crazy beautiful shot from Someplace Wild makes me so incredibly excited to see the rest of the images and share them with you!
